Mamonde Flower Lab Essence Mask & Moisture Ceramide Light Cream Review!

JELLY ESSENCE MASK? Is it new? Definitely my first time hearing about this and trying this on. Mamonde sent me a few new products and they are the Mamonde Flower Lab Essence Mask and Moisture Ceramide Light Cream. I guess after trying out both, I was more intrigued by the mask than the cream.

Mamonde Flower Lab Essence Mask (Calendula variant)

I was trying to research on how much they are selling this in Malaysia but apparently they haven't started selling these yet. What?! So I don't know the price of this mask. Lols. Nevertheless, I'm still going to review one of this product that I've tried recently.

I would assume that the new Flower Lab Essence Mask will have 5 different variant since they've sent me 5 of them. Each of them have somewhat a little difference in functions but all seem to be either moisturising or hydrating, and all these mask comes with Light Fit Sheets made from eucalyptus tree pulp to help adhere better to the skin. I was mostly interested in the JELLY ESSENCE packet, the Calendula type.

So I tried this one in the video. Oh my, it was actually pretty interesting. The jelly essence made it very familiar for my skin as I enjoy using hydrogel mask a lot, this feels quite similar even though the cellulose sheet itself feels more like a fabric. I was quite impressed with the sheets too. They held up so well on my face that even if I decides to walk around and do some cleaning, I actually can because it truly adheres really well on my skin. It didn't dry off as quickly as other regular cotton mask, even after 20 mins, my cheeks and forehead area was still quite wet.

After taking it off, my skin felt great. Thoroughly nourished and moisturised. Left a layer of glowing glory on my face that I love just before going to bed. My skin and I felt really good. I think more brands should start making more of these jelly sort-of-essence-type mask. Highly recommended by me. As for the other 4 mask, hibiscus, camellia, magnolia, and rose, I haven't try them out yet.

Mamonde Moisture Ceramide Light Cream (50ml, RM139)

In the video, I've used it immediately after the mask, so I can't really tell if it's really any good or not. So, I've tried it again for a few days just with my regular skincare routine without masking, I was kinda spot on as how I think I would feel about this product. I knew that a light cream probably won't work as well for me ever since I've found my current absolute favourite moisturiser that comes in a super thick cream form.

However, I wouldn't say that this is a bad product. It's in my OKAY category of products. I don't hate it. It works fine as a moisturiser and smells good. I think this would suit people with dry combination skin type better as compared to a super dry skin type like mine. I still use this, mostly in the day time when I don't feel like I want to put on too thick of a cream so I can pile on makeup. I think it's great for weather such as Malaysia's, hot and humid, going out with a super thick cream would be a little uncomfortable even for me. Then again, I'm mostly at home. :D

Awesome Cooling Haircare Product Review!

$

0

I have these two products for a long time now and I roughly started using these two almost around the same time. I pulled these out because while I was using the Shikai Shampoo set that I reviewed previously, I didn't really enjoy how terribly drying that shampoo is as much as I like its super cooling properties, thus, I whipped out another shampoo as an alternative and switching between them.

Watch my video review first!

Innisfree Green Tea Mint Fresh Shampoo

This is a really nice shampoo. Not the most cooling but it has a little of that refreshing properties. It smells good and not overly drying, which is fantastic. This comes in a conditioner too but I didn't get that because I have way too many conditioners at home that is not used up yet.

Verbena Scalp Scaling Mask

I got sucked into buying this from Althea because the "more info" section of the website did an ultra amazing job at making me think that I absolutely need this in my life. Plus, it was stated that it's extremely cooling, so I can't help myself. I'm glad that this is a really huge tube because I realise when I mask my scalp with this, I kinda condition my long hair with this too. So, at least it didn't finish in 5 uses. I personally like this scalp mask but I don't use this on my scalp every time I wash my hair because I'm afraid that I might clog my scalp pores as it is quite moisturising. So I only use this on my scalp whenever I feel my scalp is really dry and need the nourishment. I can tell you that this product is extremely cooling, it feels so amazing massaging this on my scalp and the cooling feeling lingers after washing the mask off. I would recommend this product if you are looking for something that can help refresh your scalp. This smells good and does the job well.

Tried and Tested: Mentholathum Minty Lip Crayons!

$

I'm so impressed by these lip crayons. I love its minty feeling, seriously, legit minty feeling for a lippie. The colours (I have 4 of them and I believe that's all they have at the moment) are all different from each other and can be quite pigmented after layering them properly.

It's extremely buildable. The first layer is sheer but still noticeable that you are wearing something on your lips. Wait for a while for it to set and then go in with the second layer to build it up, you'll see the colours becoming very much pigmented. If you want to go heavier, similarly, wait for it to set before going on with the 3 layer.

I personally absolutely love these. They are not your liquid lipsticks or matte lipsticks that are extremely bold and last long, these are the type that you'll need to reapply often within the day but very K-style kind of gorgeous I would say.

There's A Breathable, Organic Hair Salon In Bangsar!

$

0

Remember all the times we walked into a hair salon and immediately we were overwhelmed by the scent of chemical for hair treatments? Fortunately, there's a hair salon (that I recently found out) in Bangsar that doesn't have that chemical scent lingering in the salon. Eka Roots, hair and scalp wellness is known as a breathable, chemical-free, organic hair salon. It's truly one of its kind!

Walking into such spacious space for a hair salon is extremely rare as mostly salons would pack in as many salon chairs as possible so they could serve as many customer as possible. Believe it, I don't recall any sort of chemical scent lingering in the salon. I believe this is not only healthier for us, adults who are getting our hair done but also moms who bring their kids along.

From treatments to their products, everything in Eka Roots is 100% organic. So if you are pregnant or sensitive to toxic chemicals yet still want to look good, you should really try this place out. Eka Roots work closely with Philip Martins but they do have their own Eka Roots products as well that I will be reviewing at the end of this blogpost.
Here's a rundown of their services and price *as of May 2018*
I recommend calling in to get more information.

Eka Roots' Hair Toxx Service

Hair Toxx, also known as hair botox, claims to make your hair super smooth and soft. It's paraben free, salt free, mineral oil free, sulphate free, pretty much free from any sort of harmful chemicals and the ingredients of Hair Toxx are plant based.

Before trying their Hair Toxx service, my hair wasn't in its worst state that I've ever had before but definitely can use some improving. I was pretty excited of the result as I was recommended highly of this treatment and supposingly last for about a month if I use the right shampoo.

The treatment started with a gentle shampoo, washing and prep my hair for the next step, mask and serum. Once all strands are coated, my hair was left to steam for about 15 minutes. Final step was rinsing and blow drying.

I was told that I could immediately feel the difference even before blow drying but I personally don't feel much difference just by touching my hair after rinsing. The only thing I notice was that my hair wasn't as tangly when the stylist was combing through my damp hair. It was only after they blow dried my hair where I truly felt how extremely soft and smooth my hair was. I was extremely impressed. However, the real test is to see if the result of this treatment will last long as they had mentioned.

Eka Roots Shampoo and Conditioner

So, since I was advised to use shampoos that are pretty much organic, without all the chemicals, I wanted to buy their own Eka Roots Shampoo and Conditioner to try myself. However, they were kind enough to give me a set for review purposes. I'm thankful for that but don't worry, this doesn't change how I review things.

Above picture are the products that I've been using for the past 3 weeks. Looking at their ingredient list, seem pretty good. I personally absolutely love this set. The shampoo smells amazing, left my hair feeling clean yet not overly drying. The problem with natural shampoo is that I realise most of the once that I've tried before, they don't clean as well as this do. Eka Roots conditioner is also something I really enjoy. Again, it smells amazing and it works well as a conditioner but doesn't leave that overly slippery feeling like well, dove's conditioner does.

After 3 weeks of maintaining with Eka Roots' shampoo and conditioner, I have to say that my hair is obviously not as soft and smooth as Day 1 but I do realise that combing my hair now is so much easier now than before the treatment. It doesn't tangle up as badly as before. My hair feels much more manageable now, I don't look like crap if I'm too lazy to run my hair through with my heated curling comb, I can just comb and air dry it!

Overall, I personally do recommend at least give this organic hair salon a try even if you don't feel like doing the hair toxx treatment. I bet you'll love their services. Additionally, they also do nails, serve awesome coffee and tea, and if you are feeling a little stressed out and need some wine to unwind, try asking if they have any in stock.

Food Bar - BUFFET Breakfast, Lunch, or Tea For RM15 Or Less!

$

0

I know this is concept is kind of crazy but I saw this on Facebook one day and can't help it but to bring Dexter here to try their food out. Plus, the place looks amazing, girls will love to come here and snap a few pictures for their instagram, I know I did.

(Current) Food Bar - Fashion Library Buffet Price:
Breakfast (8am-10.45am) - RM7
Lunch (12pm-2.45pm) - RM15
Tea Time (3pm-6pm) - RM10

Food Bar - Fashion Library is a Community Dining restaurant with a Honour System concept. Which means that they do not have someone standing at the cashier collecting payment from you. You pay by dropping your cash into a huge jar in the center of the room, get a table, and enjoy your buffet meal. I would assume that if you choose to support them and want to pay more, you can definitely do so. If you pay less (I personally don't recommend. Please la, don't be so cheapskate, it's already very cheap d), you could possibly still get away with it.

We decided to stop by for their Tea Session. By 2.50pm, there were already people sitting inside waiting while the staffs busy working on the meal. I really love the ambiance of this place. It's not overly crowded, tables are well places with enough walking space, fully air conditioned, clean, comfortable, well decorated, overall a lovely restaurant.

Pay by dropping your money into this huge jar.

and enjoy ALL YOU CAN EAT BUFFET!

One of the food corner

Porridge/Congee, Soup, Asian Dessert, Coffee, Tea.

Porridge is pretty much basic plain porridge. We didn't try their soup and dessert. Basic Coffee and Tea are pretty good (kaw enough), better than some hotel breakfast standard.

Noodle station with various condiments.

Dex made his own bowl of hearty bee hun noodle soup. Broth base was pretty good, the peppery kind.

Assortment of steam pau and toast station with peanut butter and margarine.

Of course, I took bread and toast it. It wasn't on at first but I asked and the lady was very friendly to help me with it. They have plain white bread for that day. Steamed pau was pretty good too.

At the center of the room, they have a long table where they serve a variety of finger food and salad. They serve in small portion of each and then refills them with either the same or different assortments.

The first batch of food. Nuggets, tofu skewers, tarts, sardin sandwich, few types of nyonya kuih.

Other food that was served after the first batch was omelette, roti kok/toasted baguette with butter and sugar, sausages, and stuffed tofu.

The food overall were okay with some being rather tasty. It's nothing fancy but all well presented. One thing I realise is that people tend to rush to the table just as soon as the staff place the new plate of food on the table. Food usually gone within seconds and their turnover is not as fast as their hungry customers although I saw they have quite a number of staffs and everyone is always doing something in a speedy manner.

I remember clearly when the sausages was served, the staff wanted to refill the bowl of chilli sauce and clearly mentioned "wait r, chilli sauce coming". Clearly, nobody cared and by the time she came out from the kitchen, the plate was empty. Lols, I felt so bad for her as she even took the time to get a new clean bowl for the chilli sauce.

I believe this little snack corner is also available for consumption.

Self Clearing system

This is also a self clearing place. Once you are done, simply take your plates, bowls, etc and place them here. Someone will then wipe the your table. Unfortunately, I've seen some people left the restaurant without cleaning up after themselves. Please don't be them, clear your own table, it's not that hard.

For the price, we wouldn't mind coming back again. In fact, we are planning to check out their breakfast and lunch too some day. I believe they change their menus every single day, so what you see today may not be the same as the day you dine in.

Ample of parking space but is a little pricey, RM3 first hour and RM2.50 for subsequent hours I think. If you are into clothes, check out their second floor.

RedTail By Zouk: A Spacious, Breathable Game Bar

$

0

I'm for real. This is not clickbait. For once, I found a game bar that I don't feel confined and smoky. The best part of it all was to walk out without smelly like smoke from head to toe!

RedTail Bar by Zouk opened at Resorts World Genting earlier this year and it's known to be a significantly exciting addition to the vibrant nightlife scene of Genting where the chic and sophisticated spends their leisure hours. Offering the perfect setting for pre-club drinks and group celebration with light finger food, you could enjoy a variety of games like Xbox E-Games, Beer Pong, Shots & Ladder, Battle Shots, Giant Pong, darts, and pool. Well, that night I only noticed the obvious three games, beer pong, giant pong, and pool.

Watch our vlog to see more of the RedTail Bar by Zouk!

If you are anything like Dex and I, we are not the biggest fans of crowds. So, the fact that we didn't mine hanging around RedTail Game Bar, it's a huge deal for us as they must have done something right.

RedTail covers 4,289 sq ft., taking up an entire lower ground floor for itself in SkyAvenue. It's a huge, spacious bar with one part being an open concept, so you won't feel clusterphobic or confined within a smokey, enclosed area. I have no issues with people smoking but I'm not the biggest fan when the smoke have no place to escape, making it linger around my clothes and hair that usually, is a pain to wash after a fun night out.

I was there on a Saturday night, I would assume that it's one of the busiest night for them and there was definitely a lot of people but I didn't feel cramped, I could still enjoy a nice corner playing traditional childhood games with my partner on our table.

We witnessed a limbo match that night. RedTail regularly host competitions (easy and complicated games) as well as opportunity to go head-to-head against players across the world with exciting, real time e-game tournaments.

You can't not have food after a few rounds of games and drinks, these finger foods are just what we needed. The pizza and fried squid was pretty good but the chicken wings as bland. Hit or miss when it comes to food, not everything taste great even though they look pretty good. As for drinks, one of RedTail's specialty and bestseller is a Sour Plum Shot, extremely sour but pretty good I have to admit.

The partying atmosphere also celebrates culture and arts, especially the art scene in Southeast Asia. They have decorated the place with murals, graffiti art, handcrafted lighting and sculptures, bespoke pieces that are done by up-and-coming wonderful talents. One popular Instagram-worthy art wall is as picture above, I believe they were work of some of our local artists.

Overall, if you are looking for a place to getaway, hangout, have fun, or even just watch football matches, I personally do recommend this place. One of the nicer game bars that I've been to.

Rajawali: The Best Ramadan Buffet Ever!

$

0

Dex and I, we love our Ramadan food. It's one of the few things we look forward to every year. One of the blessings being in Malaysia is that we can enjoy some of the best Ramadan buffet and among all the ones we have tried, our hearts will always return to Awana's Rajawali Ramadan Buffet.

We are glad that we got the opportunity to enjoy them this year when we were invited for a media trip with Resorts World Genting. Rajawali was the main reason why we said yes and took a weekend trip up, we just couldn't miss this opportunity.

Check out our vlog to see more of Rajawali Ramadan Buffet.

As most Ramadan Buffet, we truly feast with a huge variety of food and desserts. In Rajawali, they are not shy either, they enjoy Buka Puasa session wholehearted with tons of authentic Malay cuisines to other local delights. Of course, some of the Ramadan staples such as Roti John, Murtabak, Rendang, Ayam Masak Rempah, traditional kuih-muih, and etc, are yummy and well cooked, as well as the wonderful big pots of soup that you could DIY by adding your favourite type of noodles, meats, and condiments. However, I highly recommend going ham on the cooked-on-the-spot selection of food as those are the ones that are usually out of this world delicious!

Here are some of our favourites:

#1 LAMB

This lamb stole the number 1 spot, it is ridiculously flavourful with sweet, tender, well marinated meat. You can feel the care and love that the chef have provided as you chew and savour every bits of it.

#2 SATAY

It's not Ramadan without some good old satay. Yes, it's probably easy to find good satay anywhere in Malaysia but I'm still adding this into my top favourites as they did a pretty good job delivering such delectable meat on skewer.

#3 Fried Fresh Seafood

Ignoring those fishball pieces, all their seafoods are extremely fresh. Watching with my own eyes, the chef grabs a bunch of these and dipped them in a thin batter before dropping them off into a wok of bubbling hot oil. Oh my, I'm drooling just by recalling those epic moments, munching on these mouth-watering fried fresh seafood that are fried to perfection. Not too oily, not undercooked, and never overcooked.

#4 Malaysian Snacks

Oh yeah, these roadside warung snacks are freshly fried in front of you! As you transfer pieces of pisang goreng (banana fritters) and our very own sweet exotic cempedak goreng (jackfruit fritters), you'll feel the crispiness of these hot treats. Savouring each luscious piece of these tropical fruit fritters with a superb exterior crunch.

#5 Teh Tarik Ikat Tepi

This is how cool Rajawali is, the only Ramadan buffet that you can get you Teh Tarik ice in 'ikat tepi' style! Aesthetically pleasing without compromising the taste of our favourite Teh Tarik. Strong, milky, and not too sweet, just how we like it.

In essence, Rajawali is an awesome place should you'd like to have a good Ramadan buffet. Also, it's considered really cheap as compared to other hotel ramadan buffets in KL, even cheaper if you book early bird fee. Highly recommend to do reservations as they are usually quite full most nights.

Trilogy: New Zealand's Natural Skincare Brand Review

$
0
0

Since my previous favourite Herb Farm natural skincare review, I was stoked when I was asked if I'd like to try Trilogy out as they are also from New Zealand and they are all natural too. Trilogy is also a brand distributed by TNS Skin Lab in Malaysia, thus the excitement!

I managed to get four products that I was interested to try from the brand, the new Rosehip Transformation Cleansing Oil, Age-Proof COQ10 Eye Recovery Concentration, Hydrating Mist Toner, and Rosapene Night Cream.

Check out my video review below to see more of these four Trilogy products.

Trilogy New Rosehip Transformation Cleansing Oil (110ml, RM112.26)

This works absolutely well, just as well and powerful as shu uemura's famous cleansing oil. Similarly, it's a one-step cleansing system where you massage the oil on face to remove even the toughest makeup, then you emulsify it with water to cleanse away the impurities. It's gentle on the skin and leaves skin feeling extremely smooth and nourished. Cleaning with this should be enough but if you want to, feel free to double cleansing by going in with your regular face cleanser because oil cleanser can leave your skin feeling like that "not-clean-feel".

This Rosehip Transformation Cleansing Oil smells great with the blend of rosehip, papaya, sweet almond, and grape seed oils. I think if your skin is sensitive but you still want something strong enough to remove tough, waterproof makeup, this is a great option and alternative to shu uemura's cleansing oil because this is certified natural while looking at the ingredient list of shu's cleansing oil, it's definitely not natural ingredients.

Trilogy Hydrating Mist Toner (100ml, RM92.45)

Ever since Herb Farm's Rose mist, I wanted to have more mist in my life. So I just had to try this Trilogy Hydrating Mist Toner out. I thought, wow they have rose, geranium, and lavender, it must smell delightful! I was wrong. Unfortunately, this product didn't work for me. The mist is not as hydrating as I thought it would be, as in I spray them on my face feeling instantly refreshed but in a few minutes time, my skin is feeling dry again. So, not hydrating enough in my books. The scent was completely different than how I imagined it to be. It's not unpleasant but it's not a scent that I enjoy either.

One thing I can say is that they made the nozzle right. The mist sprays out in fine droplets and disperse evenly every single spritz. Good packaging but not the best mist I've ever used.

Trilogy Age-Proof COQ10 Eye Recovery Concentration (7.5ml, RM125.47)

I really had high hopes for this product. HIGH HOPES. I thought this could be my ultimate travel friendly under eye care, it still could be but only for the purpose of depuffing and enjoy cooling feeling under my eyes. The rollerball requires some work to get the product dispensing well, sometimes the ball don't even dispense any product unless I tilt my head way back so gravity could do its magic on this packaging.

That kinda minor issue actually. This unfortunately did not really helped much with brightening and reducing fine lines around my eye area. The product is the lightweight and watery type, not something I prefer for my under eyes as mine are so dry that it needs something creamy and can sustain moisture. This might work for you if you are looking for something that absorbs completely without leaving any residue on your under eyes or if you want a quick fix in depuffing puffy eyes. As much as I enjoy the brief period of cooling sensation from the metal rollerball, this is not enough for me.

Trilogy Rosapene Night Cream (60ml, RM151.89)

The scent is not great, it has that very natural, eco scent, but I enjoy using this night cream very much. It's such a rich, thick cream that nourishes my skin like butter. The best part is that it doesn't leave too much of a residue, just enough to feel my skin is thoroughly moisturised. This cream is great to not only help with regeneration when sleeping but also to ensure not too much moisture lost especially when sleeping in an Air Conditioned room. I recommend this for dry, ageing skin, people my age.

MIZZUE: Expensive Bags That Never Seem To Arrive.

$
0
0

Mizzue, the name that every bag searcher heard before as they constantly stick their FB sponsored post on your FB feed, making sure you know well that they are having different buy 1 free 1 bags every day.

I once reviewed their brand, read them here, it's interesting how their shipping was so on point when it was a blogger review item but when I finally decided to order from them as a customer, I was utterly disappointed. You know what's funnier, for a brand that sell bags at such a high price point, I would have expected for them to be better in terms of everything.

I've been eyeing on this bag for a really long time, ever since I was reviewing their bag. Early last month, I caved after seeing the sponsored post on FB that stated buy 1 free 1. Long story short, I managed to find a friend to buy this bag with me.

Excited me thinking that I'll receive my bag latest in 2 weeks was truly just wishful. A week after my purchase, I received an email stating that they are overwhelmed by the amount of orders and order will only arrive around 3 weeks time. My hopes of using this bag for a trip went down the drain.

I'm sure it's not their first time doing Buy 1 Free 1 promotions, Mizzue should be an expert and expected such crisis by now. Clearly, they didn't care as long as money comes in first, product delivery talk later.

On the 5 June, I received another email stating that my order has been shipped. I thought to myself "FINALLY" but it wasn't the end unfortunately. I've waited, and waited, I got worried on 10th June as I don't want delivery people to send it back to the company. So I checked on skynet with my tracking number, true enough, apparently my parcel was sent on 9th June but I wasn't in (I was at home till 5pm) and apparently I was contacted about my parcel (I did not receive any call or message or notice paper in my mailbox about my parcel).

I called them on 11th June morning, number on the website does not work, had to google their HQ number and call them there to get the number for Subang Jaya brand. Called and was on hold for a long time before someone picked up, thankfully she was polite but wasn't very helpful as I was told to wait for her to call back, she didn't :( I called back in the afternoon, again waited a long time before someone picked up, another friendly staff that helped me to get the parcel deliver again the next day.

Having experienced failure delivery failure even at the 2nd attempt, I'm not taking any chances. I called again on the 12th June at 11am, walau, again they say I wasn't home (I was home btw) when I didn't even receive any notification from my guardhouse or a call or a text about my parcel. Thankfully, this time the staff called me back again to inform me that the deliveryman will send again before 6pm today. As usual, a vague answer, from 11am-6pm. All so familiar to me, I once did the same, staying home all day and ended up parcel still didn't arrive that day when I was told it would.

Seriously, this is ridiculous. Paying so much to Mizzue when they can't even ensure their paying customer are getting the best shipping service and somehow must be "understaffed", constantly overwhelmed and not enough bags to deliver on time (there are many examples online, just google, many complained before and Mizzue did nuts about it), making customers wait, and wait.

Let's just hope that this bag arrives today as promised so I can move on with my life.

Have you experienced such unfortunate incident before?

*UPDATE* 12 June 2018, 3pm++

The delivery guy finally called. Finally. He was polite when he delivered. The package arrived safely and in good condition, no tears, no rips. Now, I finally can go sleep in peace.

REMOVING MAKEUP WITH ONLY WATER?! Face Halo vs. Face Circle Review

$
0
0

There's a new trend in town and this new modern technique of removing makeup with only water is a crazy hit in the western country and currently picking up in Korea. Personally, I knew that there's this microfiber cloth call the Makeup Eraser that does the same thing, removing makeup with just water but I've never tried that so I can't say much about it.

As for these two, I found out about Face Halo first and watched Chloe Morello's demo and tutorial on her channel, thus knew a thing or two about such tool. Never thought of trying it out until I saw that Althea Malaysia was selling a dupe known as Face Circle by Paul Medison. Immediately ordered both and kickstarted a battle between these two!

Watch my video to see more of Face Halo and Face Circle!

Face Halo
Bought: 1 pack of 3
Total price including shipping: 30.70USD (~RM122.37)

An Australian brand but product is also made in Korea. Comes in a pack of 3 that has HaloTech fiber strands (100 times finer than human hair) to reach deep into pores to remover and trap makeup onto the strands.

It's difference from Face Circle when it comes to the microfiber material use. Face Halo is 100% PES. I personally don't know what that means. Lols.

Fluffy, cotton soft feeling, flexible but I realise a few strands of strings are coming off as I was using it. It was caught on video too.

Paul Medison Face Circle

Korean brand that's also manufactured in Korea. Claim to be dermalogically tested and they are specially engineered using microfibers to gently but effectively remove dirt, makeup, and impurities.

Face Circle is made from 100% PET, a different material from Face Halo I assume. Again, don't know what's PET material but feels quite similar to the touch.

Same soft cottony feel but it's doesn't feel as fluffy as Face Halo. Face Circle is flatter while Face Halo is puffier. Both have same instructions when it comes to using and caring for them. Just wet them with warm or cold water (don't squeeze them too dry) and gently wipe off makeup. No need to scrub or rub your face. Can be washed up to 200 times, hand wash with soap or throw them in washing machine without fabric softener, softener will leave a coating that will reduce the effectiveness of the fibers. After washing, leave them to air dry. Easy.

I've been using them for a while now since the day I recorded this video and I have to say both works equally well in removing my basic, simple, daily light makeup. I also find them much more convenient as to needing to whip out my micellar water and cotton pad as how I used to do it. Plus, I feel with these cloths, my skin don't feel as dry as using micellar water nor leaves any oily residue. Of course, with tougher, waterproof makeup, I still prefer to use oil based remover to speed up the process.

I also feel that the Face Halo is a little bit softer on the face, I believe it's because it's a little fluffier as compared to the Face Circle. Though, Face Halo is slightly pricier as compared to Face Circle.

Cleaning wise, I recommend using warm water to clean, it helps but if not, regular tap water temperature will do too. Overall, it's truly convenient and I really like using them both but if I have to pick, I prefer Face Halo as it feels softer on the skin.

THE YUBISO SCANDAL + Cushion Puff Review!

$

Apparently, YUBISO and MINISO are NOT JAPANESE COMPANIES! Thanks to my friend Jess posted the video (link here) and mentioned in her FB post that our Malaysia's own YUBISO and MINISO have the same business concept as MUMUSO in Vietnam, only that instead of Korean, they claim themselves as Japanese. Just Fantastic.

Obviously, I didn't go too deep into the research, this is definitely not an exposé. I just want the public to be aware of this issue. Also, I'm not saying you shouldn't buy their products, just want you to know what you are buying and where are they are from.

Because I was just too afraid to try their makeup or skincare products, I've decided to go with a safer route and get something that I actually do need, which a few cushion puffs. I have a few cushion foundations that are puffless ever since the provided puffs weren't the long lasting kind.

They were only RM6 (less minusing 6% GST) each pack that comes with two puffs. They both have different material but I was more curious about the teardrop-shade red puff than the cute cartoony designed puff.

Performance wise, the red one functions better to my preference. The cartoon one kinda soak up too much product and doesn't deposit well on my skin, so it was quite an effort to cover my face as compared to the red puff. The tapered tip work well to get into the corners of my face and underneath my eyes, reduces the amount times that I have to squish my puff that could potentially be bad for the longevity of the puff.

Additionally, the cartoon puff looks a little thicker but still fits in a regular cushion foundation case but doesn't feel as soft and bouncy as the red puff. The red one fits very well into a regular sized cushion case.

Despite all the controversy, yes, I'm not happy that they made me think that they are a Japanese company but to be completely honest, I don't think it'll stop people from buying their stuff if the items that they have there are affordable and have the demand. Or even just by looking cute with attractive packaging or something that looks super unique, the public will still pay for it. Unless, the public decides to completely boycott them, then that's another story.

What do you think?

HEUN KEE - BEST CLAYPOT CHICKEN RICE IN KL?

$

I was craving for a good claypot chicken rice for a while now and thankfully, we were introduced to one that's located in KL. Usually, Dex and I will never drive all the way to KL just for food but since we were already in KL for other reason, why not.

Apparently this place is quite famous, you can find many reviews just by googling Heun Kee Claypot Chicken Rice. Additionally, it can be found in Waze, directions shouldn't be a problem. Parking might a problem, they have limited parking spot that's located at the left of the shop when you exit the restaurant, thus if possible, take a Grab or carpool.

We were there early, probably about 11.30am. The restaurant is quite spacious and clean. However, by 12.30pm, almost all the tables were taken by the lunch crowd. It's crazy seeing groups and groups of working people walking in for their dose of claypot chicken rice. So you could either come early or call them 30min in advanced to reduce waiting time.

Price and portion, I think it's okay. Dex and I ordered a medium sized claypot chicken rice and a pig stomach pepper soup. We were extremely satisfied with their portion and the amount of ingredients they have in them. The pieces of chicken and chinese sausages on top of the claypot chicken rice were amazing and the rice below was extremely delicious. If you are looking for the crust at the bottom of the claypot, unfortunately this doesn't have too much of the crust, which I don't mind. Dex likes that they place the salted fish in a separate tiny bowl so it won't even make some parts of the rice smell like salted fish even after taking them out.

The soup was peppery, super peppery and according to Dex (I don't eat pig's stomach), he said that the intestines was well clean and cook, they don't have a funky smell.

Overall, I was pleased with the food here. I truly enjoyed their claypot chicken rice. If only they are a little closer to my home, I would go and eat them often.

BROW SET WITH INGREDIENTS THAT SCARES ME - Does It Work?

$

Let's be honest, most of cosmetics you get from the drugstore do contain ingredients that are also known as harmful in the beauty world. Ingredients such as parabens, mineral oils, random numbers, and words that you can't even pronounce, can be quite scary as being over exposed to it can, well, in extreme, cause cancer. Thus, we as consumers, are constantly advised read the ingredients and learn up a little about how to pick out good or bad ingredients in a product, this goes for anything that's consumable.

I got this brow set from a Guardian event and this is actually a limited edition gift kit that's only available for Christmas 2017. I can't find them on Guardian Online Store and I believe it's also no longer sold in stores. This complete brow set is possible about RM59.90. I guess it's okay for that much items in it.

Watch my video below to see how they work on my brows.

In a nutshell, it's not the worst brow products I've used. It could be that my expectations are low but they do work quite okay. I think the shades variety in the palette are decent for asian brows, the pencil is really soft, too soft for my liking, the dual ended brush works fine although not quite well produced, stencil choices could have a few more thick and straight brow options since it's what in trend now, brow gel sets shiny which I don't prefer, spoolie was straight up rough, and the tweezer is a lifesaver.

Does it work? Yes, and I don't mind using them since it's only applied to my brows.

Antipodes Halo Skin-Brightening Facial Mud Mask First Impressions [+GIVEAWAY]

Mud mask is known to be really good for deep pore cleansing and lifting dead skin build up off the surface of your face. However, from past experience, I know that mud mask may cause dryness or sometimes, depending on the ingredients, it may not be suitable for thin, dry, or sensitive skin. Such as the famous, much raved about GlamGlow original mask in black packaging. I can't use GlamGlow as it does sting my skin and cause me to breakout. Thus, ever since then, I'm usually less receptive to trying out new mud mask.

The reason I've agreed to try this Antipodes Halo Skin-Brightening Facial Mud Mask is because I trust the brand and the distributor in Malaysia. Most of the products that I've tried from the Malaysian distributor, or even simply products from New Zealand, my skin tend to react well. So why not.

Do check out my first impressions video below!

Antipodes Halo Skin-Brightening Facial Mud Mask (75g, RM169.00)
This mud mask has a really nice consistency, smooth enough to easily spread throughout the face and thick enough to stay on the face after application. It didn't sting my skin at any point of the process and it smells absolutely amazing! This has to be one of the mud mask that I've ever used that has a light sweat and tangy fruity scent. I can't get enough of it.

For me, it took longer than 15 minutes to dry to the stage as above but usually with mud mask, you don't need to wait for it to completely dry before washing it off. Partially dry is good enough. Like most mud mask, it's tough to remove, you'll need a good 5-10 minutes trying to wash off all the mask. While cleaning off the mask, I took the "effort" and time to exfoliate my skin.

Once it's all removed, I pat my skin dry. Yes, the surface of my skin definitely felt so much smoother and as for brightening, well it only made sense that when dead skin is removed, my skin will definitely look a little bit brighter. What I personally like about this mud mask is that my skin felt firm but not overly drying, perfect for my dry skin. Does this product work? Yes it does and I would recommend it to anyone who wants a good and nice smelling mud mask!
